Vegetarian food in Dubai: Apart from Indian food, you can also try some local vegetarian specialties in Dubai, such as Tabbouleh which is made from tomatoes, green onions, cucumber and seasoned with lemon and fresh mint, or the Fattoush salad made with fried or toasted Pita bread pieces complemented with a lemon dressings and greens. Sailing on the canal on a traditional wooden boat called “Dhow” is a wonderful experience. You will not only enjoy the boat cruise, but also get a great perspective of the wondrous architecture of the area from the boat accompanied by the sound of traditional music in the background. Depending on your preference, you can book a Dhow Cruise with Dinner, or a Sunset Dhow Cruise, or just a regular daytime cruise. Whichever Dhow Marina Cruise you book for your Dubai trip, you are sure to have a great experience!

Shopping

This almost did not need to be said. Dubai and shopping go hand in hand! Whether you prefer to shop at the upscale Dubai malls such as the Dubai Mall, the Mall of the Emirates, and the Mercato Mall, go bargain hunting at the Dubai Outlet Mall, or stock up on jewellery at the Gold Souk Dubai, Dubai has a lot to offer the serious shopper. If you are looking for traditional products like textiles, ceramics, handicrafts, spices and other souvenirs to bring back from your Dubai holiday, we highly recommend a visit to Meena Bazaar in the Bur Dubai area. This is one of Dubai’s famous places for traditional shopping. If you are a really committed shopper, do consider booking your Dubai trip package to coincide with the Dubai Shopping Festival dates.

Party with a scenic view

Enjoy an evening out in Dubai with your friends and loved ones. We recommend an evening at Shimmers, one of Dubai’s famous places for a special meal. This beachside restaurant in Palm Jumeirah is known for its beautiful location and enchanting views of the Burj Al Arab. Enjoy authentic Greek cuisine in a casual yet intimate atmosphere. This is an ideal inclusion in a Dubai honeymoon package. You can also head to the Lounge at the Armani Hotel for an aperitif or nightcap in quiet luxury, enjoying an unforgettable view of the Dubai Fountain.

Jumeirah Beach Walk

Jumeirah Beach is very upscale and pleasant part of Dubai. The Walk at Jumeirah Beach is a popular open-air hangout full of fashion boutiques, retail stores, cafes and restaurants. Visitors can enjoy the incredible views of the water and the pleasant sea breeze, shop for unique handicrafts and designer products, and enjoy the buzzing vibe of this extremely chic walkway. This place is also where you are likely to see some of the best cars in the world! It is especially popular at night.

Skydiving

Here’s one for the adrenalin junkies. Skydiving in Dubai promises an opportunity to experience freefall right over the unique Palm Jumeirah landscape, or if you prefer it, over the desert outside the city. Experienced instructors guide you every step of the way, so that even beginners can try their first skydive in Dubai. Both tandem and solo skydives are available. Dubai’s high-flying lifestyle is tempting in many ways, with top-of-the-world experiences to explore. Splash out on these unique things to do in Dubai:

Gyrocopter Ride:  If you wish to take a bird’s eye view of Dubai’s glittering skyline and cityscape, try the gyrocopter experience. This is a small private aircraft, rather like a helicopter, that seats two people and operates from the Dubai Marina. Along with your pilot, you will fly over the Dubai Marina, the Palm Jumeirah, and past the Burj Al Arab. Enjoy the smooth 20 minute ride, with views of the brilliant blue ocean and the glittering skyscrapers of the city. Truly an experience for the ‘gram!

Overview

The Tiananmen, a gate in the wall of the Imperial City, was built in 1415 during the Ming dynasty. In the 17th century, fighting between Li Zicheng’s rebel forces and the forces of the Manchu-led Qing dynasty caused heavy damage to, or even destroyed, the gate. Tiananmen Square was designed and built in 1651, and has since been enlarged by four times its original size in the 1950s.

Near the centre of the square stood the “Great Ming Gate”, the southern gate to the Imperial City, renamed “Great Qing Gate” during the Qing dynasty, and “Gate of China” during the Republican era. Unlike the other gates in Beijing, such as the Tiananmen and the Zhengyangmen, this was a purely ceremonial gateway, with three arches but no ramparts, similar in style to the ceremonial gateways found in the Ming tombs. This gate had a special status as the “Gate of the Nation”, as can be seen from its successive names. It normally remained closed, except when the Emperor passed through. Commoner traffic was diverted to side gates at the western and eastern ends of the square, respectively. Because of this diversion in traffic, a busy marketplace, called “Chess Grid Streets”, was developed in the big, fenced square to the south of this gate.
